In Cormac McCarthy’s novel

In Cormac McCarthy’s novel, No Country for Old Men, a character known as Llewelyn Moss, a welder and Vietnam veteran, happened to stumble upon several murdered bodies, a truck containing a heavy supply of cocaine, and two million dollars of cartel drug money. Later on, a flip of a coin decides the fate of a woman named Carla Jean. This Novel touches upon the theme on whether or not people have the free will to decide what goes on in their lives. In No Country for Old Men, free will is put to the test by a coin flip, a choice, and money, however because of the choices and actions taken by humans, free will leads everyone to fall into a category of pre-determined forces (also known as fate).
Llewelyn Moss went out one evening to go hunting, while his wife Carla Jean stayed at home.
