IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY
February 14, 2018, seventeen people were killed by a nineteen year old, Nikolas Cruz, in a school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Before he killed seventeen people, he posted a video from Snapchat in 2016 that was a video where he was cutting his arms. So when the video was posted the agency investigated it. When Cruz was eighteen he was listed as an “alleged victim” of medical neglect and supervision. When the agency talked to Mr. Cruz he said stated that he plans to buy a gun. The investigation was completed on November 12 and the agency said that Cruz had not been abused by his mother, and that he was in school and was receiving adequate care. Later Cruz was diagnosed with autism and a neurological disorder that caused him to be socially awkward. Cruz’s adopted dad died years ago, and his adopted mom died last fall. A former classmate of Cruz who grew up with him said that since the sixth grade that Cruz would introduce himself as a “school shooter”. This all happened since his family moved away when he was in elementary school. If his parents did not leave him then maybe seventeen people would still be alive and this terrible tragedy would have never happened. Family is so important because parents provide the basic physical necessities and emotional care for their children.
Family provides you with love and support, and that is one reason why family is important. Through ones life, one will go through trials and hardships and one will not be able to get through it if they do not have love and support. If it is graduating from college, interviewing for a new job, or just going through a bad relationship, one will need family to love and support that person through his journey. It is so much better and easier on life when you have a family that cares for you. Your family knows you better than anyone else and they will always be there for you. Parents are probably the biggest role models of a child. They are always there for their children in every part of ones life, and they help us in every step of our lives. If one is going through physical problems or spiritual problems, his parents will be there by his side through every step. So like Nikolas Cruz, he didn’t grow up with good parents, he was but into foster care/adoption. He was a drug baby and then was not wanted by his parents. He had a rough childhood which could have been part of the cause of the mass shooting. If he would have had good Godly parents, that terrible tragedy probably would have never happened. Parents should be ones biggest role models in your physical, social, emotional, financial and career developments.
Genesis 1:28 says, “And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth’.” The Bible says to have many children and to “Train up a child in the way he should go”. Family is one of the very best and most important things in life, and Jesus’ love for us is so powerful that we can not even comprehend his love for us. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, so that we can have a choice to be with him in Heaven or we can not accept Him and you can spend an eternity in Hell. When one is born, he is a small beautiful creature that is not able to feed itself, or do anything on his own. We are helpless people sent to earth by God. We are children of a Heavenly Father who loves and protects us to the end of earth.
